West Whitner Parking Garage

The construction of the 250 space garage and 11,000 square-feet of retail space, which began in early 2008, has been completed. The parking garage structure has certainly changed the landscape of downtown and is a major development in furthering our downtown revitalization efforts.

Parking is currently free all of the time.

Lt. Allen Hammond Benefit Dinner and Show
The Anderson City Police Department put on “Murder in Black and White,” presented by the Show Offs! and catered by Honeybaked Ham, to benefit Lt. Allen Hammond. Over $1500.00 was raised for Lt. Hammond and his family. A special thank you to Debra Holmes, Officer Bridgette Parsley, Linda Lavold, and everyone else who contributed to this event being so successful. We wish Lt. Hammond and his family all the best!

“Hello Dan! Liz and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your shop, Pixel Point, this afternoon! We can't wait to share it with our Newcomer friends in March. Thanks so much for showing us all of your treasures and if we need anything we will let you know.

We stopped by and spoke with Lolly Wenzel and we will be having lunch at Ooh La Lolly at 11:30. We will arrive at the Visitors Bureau around 10:15 where Kathy Benson will be speaking with us. Then upstairs to the Art Center.

We had a great time today and are looking forward to our March visit! Thanks again! Linda Blanton (Greenville Newcomers Club)"

50th Class Reunion
On their way from Atlanta, Georgia to Black Mountain, North Carolina for a fiftieth class reunion, a group of ladies visited the Electric City’s Downtown. The group ate lunch at Ooh La Lolly, “a little bit of Paris… a little bit of Anderson.” The group then went on a shopping trip to Pixel Point Graphics, where they enjoyed learning about the shop’s unique design services while listening to eclectic music and browsing the assortment of organic arts.
